Technoclot®PTOwren (automated)isathromboplastinreagentmodifiedaccordingtoOwrenforthequantitativedeterminationofProthrombinTime(PT)inhumancitratedplasma.ThereagentisenrichedwithbovineplasmafromwhichtheprothrombincomplexfactorsII,VIIandXhavebeenremoved.ThebovineplasmaremainsasourceoffibrinogenandfactorV,whichthereforecannotbedetectedbythetest. ThisreagentissensitivetoabnormallevelsofthecoagulationfactorsII,VIIandXandisusedfortheresearch oforal anticoagulants(i.e.warfarin).Technoclot®PTOwrenautomatedisespeciallydesignedtobeusedwith coagulationanalyzersincludingonesusingopticalPTdetermination.
Technoclot®PTOwrenreplaces Thrombotest®andNormotest®.
